This item includes the same high-quality parts we use in our supercharger rebuild services.

1. Two AC Delco supercharger oil, 4-ounce bottles (2)

2. Permatex anaerobic gasket maker for aluminum flanges, a red sealer (1)

3. Coupler prepared with installation grease (1)

6. Viton front nosedrive seal with double-seal internal diameter, prepared with installation grease and oil on internal diameter of the lips of the seal. (1)

This item is Quality Control checked. As an informed DIY Do-It-Yourself person, you are purchasing this item to complete the rebuild service yourself. You are making the decision to take upon yourself the responsibility of the successful outcome. If you decide at any point to have a professional perform this service, send it in. The parts for the supercharger nosedrive assembly are correct when this item leaves the shop. Damage that occurs after the point where it is packaged for shipment from us, is completely on the mechanical person performing the rebuild service, whether you or your mechanic. No refunds will be given however, if you run into issues, contact us first because we can help.

 

These TRD 3.4L superchargers are in high demand. Not necessarily easy to come by. Our Shop Foreman designed this kit to be the quickest way to put a supercharger you already own back into service, with much of the work performed by you or your mechanic, to help with cost and turnaround time savings. This kit is especially great for automotive repair shops where the mechanic can keep the cost and turnaround time down by completing the less difficult work in his repair facility. This item is a do-it-yourself rebuild kit. It comes with a parts kit to rebuild the Eaton M62 Snout Nosedrive. We also offer a Complete Supercharger Rebuild Kit that includes a ready to install rotor assembly with new rotor coating also available through our eBay store.

Eaton supercharger needle bearings, premium double-seal needle bearing pair

This listing is for a PAIR (TWO, 2) INA or other premium brand cup-type needle bearings, with a double seal and factory pre-greased.


Eaton superchargers use two needle bearings, one on each rotor shaft. Some of them are cup-type, just like the PAIR in this item listing.  


If you plan to replace both, purchase ONE ITEM (1) to receive a pair.


THIS IS NOT A HOLE THROUGH NEEDLE BEARING. 

We have Hole-through needle bearings available but, this is not the item listing to purchase if you want a Hole-through bearing such as those found in some Jaguar Eaton superchargers. Contact us for the hole-through type needle bearing.

IMPORTANT DETAILS:



  • Note ( use extra caution on blind bearing holes )
  • This double sealed needle bearing is 2mm or .079" longer or wider than some Eaton type bearings it replaces.
  • The Eaton supercharger case hole is 23.2mm deep in the G3 M45,62,90 & 112 hole through housing. 
  • This leaves about 1.5mm or .050" clearance.
  • I suggest caution for blind bearing bores such as the G3 M62 & 90 used commonly on 2000 & earlier GM cars.
  • The cup bearing must not protrude must be sub-flush in bearing hole.
  • Original Eaton Cup Type needle bearing dimension 17mm ID 23.8mm OD 20mm W or long.
  • This double-seal Supercharger Cup Type needle bearing 17mm ID 23.8mm OD 22mm W or long.
  • See pictures show a cup bearing being removed from a 96 GM supercharger and this double-seal cup-type needle bearing installed.
  • The pictures also show a double-seal cup-type needle bearing with a black circle around it.
  • The bearing is about .5mm or .020" in the bearing hole. 
  • This is a blind bearing hole in this picture. 
  • The grease gun & tool is how I remove a bearing from a blind hole.
  • This INA brand needle bearing is actually a more expensive bearing than both the F390978 and FC65477 (usually found in Jaguars) because this item is an upgrade with the change from a single-seal to a double-seal.
  • This bearing is an upgraded replacement.
  • This type is our preferred choice for rebuild services because it is what we use in our supercharger rebuild services when the customer wants an upgraded needle bearing installed. 
  • It is a better choice if alternative fuels like Methanol injection are being used because the purpose of the double seal design is to keep liquids out of needle bearings.
  • These needle bearings must be installed sub-flush to the interior face of the housing. Improper installation can lead to contact by the rotor(s) on the needle bearing face and ultimately cause damage to and failure of the supercharger. This can be avoided by installing the needle bearing correctly, sub-flush to the face of the rotor cavity on the inside of the housing. Although we can not warranty your work, if you get in over your head, you have another choice. You can have these professional installed if you decide this is not a service you are prepared to perform. Contact us for a quote.

Toyota Racing Development (TRD) introduced a supercharger for the 3.4 liter engine in 1997 and it became available for the T100, the Tacoma and the 4Runner with the 3.4 liter V6 (and later the Tundra). Horsepower jumped to the 260 hp (194 kW) range (depending of the generation of the supercharger) and 250 lb·ft (339 N·m) to 265 lb·ft (359 N·m) of torque. This power add on was available for 1997–1998 T100s only. Earlier 3.4 V6 powered T100s have different computer and electrical layouts which do not support the TRD device.

Four-wheel drive Tacomas (also 2WD crew cabs 2000–present) had six-stud wheel lug patterns, which had been used on the prior pickups (pre-Tacoma trucks). The truck's frame is fully boxed until immediately after the front leaf spring mount bracket where it transitions into a c-frame section. The 3.4 V6's manual transmission was an R150F while the automatic transmission was an A340F (Aisin code is 30-40LE). From 95-97 Single cab Tacomas had the option of a manual transmission with the 3.4 V6 engine. The aftermarket TRD supercharged 3.4L V6 produced 254 bhp (189 kW) and 270 lb·ft (366 N·m).[6] From 1997 on, the single cabs only got a 2.7 L or a 2.4 L 4-cylinder from the factory. TRD packages started in 1997 (if the V6 engine was selected, a differential locker in the rear came with it).

The third generation 4Runner also featured new engines that are also installed in the first generation Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks:
  • 2.7L 3RZ-FE I4 replacing the previous 2.4L 22R-E I4; 150 hp (110 kW) max horsepower at 4800 rpm (an increase of 38 hp (28 kW)), and 177 lb·ft (240 N·m) max torque at 4000 rpm (an increase of 35 lb·ft (47 N·m));
  • 3.4L 5VZ-FE V6 replacing the previous 3.0L 3VZ-E V6; 183 hp (136 kW) horsepower at 4800 rpm (an increase of 33 hp (25 kW)), and 217 lb·ft (294 N·m) max torque at 3600 rpm (an increase of 37 lb·ft (50 N·m)).
