Eaton M-Series Supercharger
Embree Specialty Machine offers a Complete Rebuild Service for all Eaton M-Series superchargers. This service includes the replacement of ALL the supercharger bearings and seals. We even replace the bearings and seals in the rotor assembly. While there are other people that offer to perform partial rebuilds, we may be the only company that can do this precision rotor assembly remanufacturing. Our process has a Patent Pending.
See Picture A, Picture B & Picture C.
Yes, we can even replace the hard-to-remove Eaton rotor rear needle bearings most often found in the Cobra, Lightning and Generation 5 GM superchargers. (Example: late model GTP Supercharged 3.8 Liter V-6). These supercharger bearings are difficult to service. It takes a very special tool to remove the rotor bearings.
See Picture D.
Proper removal of these bearings is important because a failed attempt to remove them can have terrible consequences.
See Picture E.
This is what happened when a customer of ours tried to remove them without the correct tool. We were able to Rescue and Repair the case but it was not easy. This kind of damage can be costly to repair and should be avoided with your best effort.
All the other early Ford, GM and Jaguar Eaton M-Series supercharger rotors usually have rear needle bearings that can be serviced more readily than the ones just addressed.
See Picture F.
We charge accordingly. See our pricing chart below. Contact Us if you are not sure which M-Series you have or if yours is not listed. There are many variations on the M-Series and it would be best for you to call and confirm which level of service your supercharger will require. For example, there are Jaguar M112 and M90 superchargers, both possibly having the hard-to-remove bearings. The M-Series or Automotive Model alone will not determine whether they have the hard-to-remove bearings or not. We will assist you with this.
How can you tell the rotor rear needle bearings need to be replaced?
Look for scratched ends on the rotors. When the rear needle bearings need to be replaced, the outer edge of the rotor will have scratches from contacting the case. This happens because the rear needle bearings are allowing too much rotor radial movement. The needle bearings only control radial movement.
How can you tell the ball bearings in the rotor bearing plate need to be replaced?
Look for a scratched rotor bearing plate. The bearings in the rotor bearing plate need to be replaced when the rotors are putting scratches in the rotor bearing plate’s sealing surface.
